Project Proposal Guidelines
The purpose of the project proposal is to demonstrate to Program Coordinators and Project Preceptor, in a clearly written format, the feasibility of proceeding with the research project as chosen by the resident.
The typewritten proposal will consist of a title page, table of contents, introduction (including pertinent background literature search information, objectives, methodology, proposed methods of statistical analysis and references.)
The proposal need not be lengthy, but does need to clearly present the above aspects of the project to the Program Coordinators and Project Preceptor. A length of five to ten pages is sufficient.
The written proposal must be completed during 2 weeks dedicated to project proposals in the residents’
schedule. This may necessitate that a topic be selected and a literature search be completed in advance of this scheduled week.
